2025 CalGames POVs

My favorite part of competition was the lunches—they offered the time for me to connect with other members of our team, and talk about our experiences. Through these team lunches, I learned the drive team’s perspective during matches, the reasoning for one of the robot fixes from those in pit crew, and the team’s excitement for our upcoming matches!

CalGames was a rush of excitement as I experienced both pride when our robot, Lupe, stormed the field. I felt inspired by the innovation of other robots and the camaraderie I shared with my peers as we cheered after a victory. Nonetheless, with the fun came challenges, as Lupe was put into positions that risked competition-ending damage. However, I learned that this was part of competing and being part of a team: our robot is built to compete at the highest levels, alongside its associated risks. After this wonderful experience, I look forward to future competitions where we can continue to display the pride that comes with building robots like Lupe!

CalGames was so fun! My favorite part was chanting at the top of my lungs. Although scouting was a bit difficult at first, it became easier as practiced hard and focused intently. I loved learning about different teams when taking pictures and I am excited to continue cheering The Janksters on!

As my first robotics competition, CalGames was a really fun experience, especially since I was volunteering as field reset. By doing so, I was able to get a deeper understanding of the game, elements, and the strategy of many different teams. I really enjoyed the playing the prediction challenge, getting an up close view of all of the matches, and cheering for our team in the stands. Overall, CalGames was an incredible opportunity to learn more about robotics from a new perspective, connect with other teams, and get even more excited for the upcoming competition season.
