Contra Costa Regional POVs

My favorite part of CCR was seeing our robot consistently being able to align to score coral. As someone who worked closely with programming to find a position for the Limelight vision camera, it was really cool seeing it in action. Even as a senior, this competition had a lot of cool teams I had never met before, so it was really great to learn more about them and their robots.

My favorite part about most events was talking to other teams that I both have and haven’t met before because everyone is so nice and friendly at competitions and Contra Costa Regional was no exception. Right now I’m looking forward to the Northern California Invitational because this will be an event where everyone is pretty even in terms of Estimated Points Average so anything can happen and I’m not going in with an idea of what the top 3 alliances will be. I’m also really excited to meet new teams and strengthen networks I already have with other teams. In fact, before going to that I think I know about 16-17 teams including ours so roughly half of the competition so I’m really excited for this.

Reconnecting with past alumni, talking to other teams about outreach, and taking photos of our robot made my experience at the Contra Costa Regional really enjoyable and fun! I was able to grow in my creativity and leadership skills and learn a lot. I look forward to wrapping up this season with our upcoming Appreciation Night and beginning to prepare for the coming 2025-2026 season!

CCR was a really fun experience for me, from the scavenger hunt and games I participated in to watching matches and cheering for our team. As part of pit crew, I learned to adjust to the quick fixes we had to make in between matches, even if they might have seemed overwhelming at the time. Walking down with the rest of the team to receive the Autonomous Award was such a well-deserved finish to our weekend. I can’t wait to see the same energy in our future offseason competitions!
