Intuitive Surgical Open House POVs

On September 29, I went to the Intuitive Surgical Open House. There were 3 parts, the first was a panel discussion with 3 of the engineers that work with them, the second was a demo on how to use the robot, and third was making a Rube Goldberg project. The part I enjoyed most was the demo, I got to control the da Vinci robot. The da Vinci robot is suppose to help surgeons do better and more precise surgery while causing the patient less pain. The surgeon sits in a machine on one side of the room and using the robot can do surgery on the patient.

Faye Neighbors Class of 2022

Intuitive Surgical Open house was an amazing experience for me to see how the skills we learn through Robotics are so extremely useful, and can be applied to the real world. It inspired me to put in even more effort to make sure I maximize the skills I learn these four years. I know now that my time is being given to something that will truly help in the grow as a person, and it is so comforting knowing that I am not alone in this journey with my fellow Janksters.
