Build Season Week 3 POVs

Week 3 build season was challenging yet productive. We made tremendous progress in designing our mechanism and we are working on finishing our CAD. When designing our mechanism, we ran into multiple spacing issues that took a lot of thought and collaboration to solve. Personally, I learned about how pistons work and how we can mount them to our mechanism to deploy the hatch panel. Since I have never worked with pistons before, it was a great learning experience. I look forward to finishing up the CAD next week and hopefully beginning manufacturing.

It was amazing to see all of the graphic design elements for the shirt and button be completed, and we made great progress on our giveaways. I learned a lot about communicating with other committee members, mentors, and sponsors in order to efficiently finish projects. Additionally, we were able to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment where all committee members' voices were heard.

Build season week 3 was a very informative week. We spoke with other mechanical subgroups and made a list of how many sensors, pneumatics, and motors they need. I also learned to calculate the number of air tanks we needed on our robot, which was interesting and useful to know.
